Canadian ensemble Cowboy Junkies, with their emotionally textured music wrapped around the levitating vocals of Margo Timmins, always provide their audience with a uniquely mesmerizing experience. Their latest release Trinity Revisited, is a celebration of their 20th anniversary of the recording of The Trinity Sessions.
Son Volt's music ranges from the quiet folk/country ballads to bar-house rockers. Jay Farrar has amassed a sizable and distintive body of work since coming on the radar with Uncle Tupelo in 1989. Often considered a staple band of the alternative country movement, their music is perhaps better described as genre-spanning traditional American music.

Just nominated for four ACM awards, including Top Female Vocalist, Heidi brings her explosive voice to Spokane. In her first foray into solo territory since her departure from Trick Pony, the platinum-selling band that earned a 2001 ACM Award for Top New Group, Newfield once again stormed the country music scene with What Am I Waiting For, the Tony Brown-produced album that debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart last August. The lead single, “Johnny and June,” achieved Top 10 status and established Newfield among the highest ranks of female country artists. Newfield is one of only four solo women in country to have had a Top 10 single in 2008.

With Special Guest Jackie Greene
BOB WEIR & RAT DOG
RatDog began as a laid-back blues ensemble in 1995, but has evolved into a snarling rock band with a fabulous jazz trio at its heart. Of course, all those forms are different facets of Bob Weir's unruly musical personality. Even when his first band, the Grateful Dead, was playing close to 100 shows a year, Weir maintained an active solo career. He then settled into a duo partnership with bassist Rob Wasserman that became RatDog. The band covers the majority of the Grateful Dead songbook, including Garcia classics like "Standing on the Moon," "St. Stephen," and "Touch of Grey," along with Weir's complete solo repertoire.

JACKIE GREENE

Opening the concert is Jackie Greene, the Americana phenom from Sacramento who has steadily built up a passionate following among both fans and some of the biggest names in music. He's equally adept at acoustic finger-picking, ripping it up on the electric guitar, coloring a song on the electric piano or firing up a jam on the Hammond B-3. With his latest album Giving Up the Ghost Greene stretches musically, while still delivering plenty of the unvarnished Americana that has made him such a sensation.
