Event Details

Eckart Preu, conductor

Benjamin Beilman, violin

In Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, the virtuosity of the soloist sparkle against a lyrical backdrop; an exquisite slow movement gives way to a folk-inspired finale that serves up a dazzling array of pyrotechnics. Shostakovich's studiously apolitical Ninth is thoroughly engaging, an endless comedy of musical wit. The concert will begin with Albinoni’s moving Adagio for Organ and Strings in G minor as a tribute to the late Kendall Feeney who served as Principal Keyboard of the Spokane Symphony. This will replace the originally scheduled Kamarinskaya by Glinka.

Concert in Memory of Dr. Elizabeth M. Welty and Kendall Feeney

The Music
