The Gonzaga Wind Symphony, Robert Spittal, music director, is renowned for superior performances and innovative concerts featuring the finest contemporary and classic works composed for the modern wind symphony. The tradition continues the evening of April 22 as the Gonzaga University Wind Ensemble teams up with Square Revolution – a surprising and creative quartet of brass players and composers who describe themselves as “a collision of four highly talented, incredibly imaginative brassers”. Square Revolution playlists span the stylistic range from pop and jazz to tango, funk, latin, and beyond, all drawn from original compositions and arrangements created by the Square Revolutionaries.
In addition to Square Revolution’s program, the concert will include:
Dmitri Shostakovich / Festive Overture
David Maslanka / Give Us This Day: Symphony for Winds
Robert Spittal / Quest
